Best Christmas Ever

There he was with tears in his eyes and a smile on his face. My brother and I raced out of the car to give him a huge hug.
“Get in the car,” Mom shouted, “we have to go the jail.” I was about as confused as a polar bear in a jungle! “Do we have to,” I exclaimed, while my brother, Caleb, was sitting next to me thinking the same thing. “Yes, it is very important,” she told me.
When we got there, Mom announced she would be right back. She was holding a small, red folder that looked almost empty. The jail was small and looked very peculiar. The whole time we were there I was thinking of how I wanted to see my Dad for Christmas. I remembered when we used to cuddle and watch Christmas movies, while my brother would be going on and on and on about how he was going to catch Santa Clause. I wished that I would get to see him for just a few seconds.
Suddenly, Mom came out with my Dad behind her. I looked at him and he looked at me. I couldn’t believe it. I shouted ,”Dad,” while there were tears in his eyes and a smile on his face. My brother and I raced out of the car to give him a huge hug. My wish came true, but I didn’t just get to see him for a few seconds, but for a few days. I thank my Mom for the wonderful surprise.
I had been almost four years since I had seen my Dad so I had a lot to talk about.
Indeed, this was the best Christmas I have ever had. Although my Dad had to go back, I learned that even though someone in not with you, they will always be in your heart.
